Good Causes

The R.J. Heritage Invitational solves the issue of few opportunities for golfers to connect, participate, and support great causes by organising an event for players at all levels.

Bowel Cancer UK

Bowel Cancer UK funds targeted research, helping people to stop dying from bowel cancer.  By providing expert knowledge and support to both patients and their families, and campaigns for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care. The Susan Hall Memorial Trophy will be awarded to the ‘Best Turned Out’ Golfer on the Charity Day. This is in honour of an amazing woman, always immaculately presented and abundant with love. Susan lost her short battle with Bowel Cancer in March 2023.

Support

Expert info and support is provided to those affected by bowel cancer.

Educate

Educate both public and healthcare professionals alike on the disease.

Train

Provide training, work-shops, and study days for health-care professionals.

Talk

Our brilliant volunteer team holds awareness talks across the UK.

We’re incredibly grateful to the R.J. Heritage Invitational for planning this event to fundraise for Bowel Cancer UK - it looks like it will be a fantastic day. Every 12 minutes, someone in the UK is diagnosed with bowel cancer, making it the 4th most common cancer. Monies raised by the R.J. Heritage Invitational will help us continue to promote the disease awareness and its symptoms. I hope that all taking part will know the difference that their support can make.

The N&N Hospitals Charity supports patients, their families and its staff at Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital's NHS Foundation Trust, which includes the N&N Hospital, Jenny Lind Children’s Hospital and Cromer Hospital. We are supporting the Respiratory Department at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital in honour of Richard Hall. A great man, husband, brother, father, grandfather and friend who sadly passed away in January 2020 after a long battle with illness.

R.J. Heritage Invitational Good Causes - Alzheimer's Research UK

Alzheimer’s Research UK stands for a cure. If nothing changes, one in two of us will be directly affected by dementia. As the UK’s no. 1 leading dementia and Alzheimer’s disease research charity, it is determined to stop this from becoming a reality. We are also supporting Alzheimer’s Research UK in honour of Hugh ‘Jock’ Arneil. A passionate golfer who would spend many a fine afternoon on the very course in which this event is held. A wonderful family man who lost his battle with Alzheimer’s in July 2024.

Research Tools

Pioneering tools for the study of disease in the lab, by researchers worldwide.

R&D

Over 25 gene risks have been identified to help with  trials of Alzheimer's.

Understanding

A greater know-how of brain wellbeing, to stop more dementia instances.

Detection

Identification of illnesses, that leads to dementia, to hinder its progression.

We are grateful to R.J. Heritage Invitational for their support of us, here at Alzheimer’s Research UK. If nothing changes, one in two of us will be affected by dementia – by providing care for someone with the condition, developing it ourselves, or both. We wish all players and sponsors the best of luck with the event and ask you to stand with the charity by taking part!

Director of Fundraising, Alzheimer’s Research UK
